The big news these days is that Rocco has started eating baby food. We had no idea he would even want to eat from a spoon yet. But the first time we tried it, he grabbed the spoon and couldn't seem to get it crammed into his mouth fast enough! Who knew he was so ready?! He started with the bland rice cereal and has since conquered sweet potatoes, pears and now peaches. (I think it's actually sweet potatoes on his face in the picture....) Owen and Oscar enjoy helping to feed him and he loves that because he thinks they are both hysterical! It's dinner and a comedy show in one, apparently.Photo (above): Rocco hanging out in Owen's bed

Owen has really proven to be an awesome big brother/babysitter! We are thrilled that he loves to watch Rocco for us... (For now anyway... in five years he will find it completely annoying!) Of course we're always home while he watches him, but he's great for keeping R happy while we make dinner, etc. Today he played with Rocco on the floor while I took my shower and ate my lunch. (with TWO hands!! Wow!) Rocco got a little fussy at one point and Owen just sang to him until he fell asleep. It doesn't get much better (or cheaper!) than that... All I paid Owen was a few marbles for his troubles!

Rocco is still a little peanut, but he definitely seems to be getting bigger. Though I just saw his Auntie Keall, who informed me that cousin Penelope had her 4-mo check-up today where she weighed in at 14 lbs, plus a few ounces. Rocco might weigh that at his SIX-month check-up next week! Maybe! (He weighed in at 11lbs, 4 oz at his 4-mo visit.)
Anyhoo, we're two days into school vacation and we're all still alive. Pretty impressive! Hopefully everytone else is well, too. I heard the other day (haven't checked the math on this yet) that we are now 2/3 of the way though winter- yahoo!
