The newest residents at our house... these baby robins hatched yesterday...
in their nest perched snugly in the top of our last year's Christmas tree!
(We left it propped up on the mudroom porch a little too long
and Miss Robin laid some eggs before we knew what had happened)
So now we've missed the Town leaf and brush disposal period, but
we do like keeping tabs on our new babies!
We'll keep taking pictures as they grow bigger...

Life in the Trenches

My darlings, how you must have been missing me! I know, I know. I shall try not to leave you for so long again...

But I'm working like crazy here! I'm still waitressing at Sebago Brewing Company and I'm also working on the neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital. I like the job; the third-shift hours I could live without... but they work. For now. I do love seeing the teeny little babies; I blow little kisses to them in their isolettes and wish them to get big and strong. I like to think it helps.

At home, our boys are doing great! However, I just realized yesterday that school is nearing an end... We have just over a month left! Yesterday was the start of the annual, district-wide art show. It's a sure sign of the approaching last day of school. I took pictures of the boys with their art work, but I'll have to post those later.

Speaking of pictures, I have not really been taking any! Which I wish weren't the case, but- ah, well. A girl can only do so much, you know? I will post the few I have for you, though. And I'll tell you about my mother's day- it was awesome. Did nothing much all day, but it was just the perfect thing. Skip cooked delicious omelettes for brunch... and sauteed some pretty perfect shrimp for dinner! Yum. Owen and Oscar made me beautiful cards... along with a handmade batik print Owen made in art class and a pansy that Oscar potted at school. It was wonderful.

Last, but definitely not least, Skip's been working really hard to get the new company off the ground and it's coming along so nicely. He decided on The Big Picture. (Thank you kindly for all your votes!!) You may have noticed I added a link for it over to the right there, but in case you are too tired to go wayyy over there to click, I'll give you an extra link right here, too! The site isn't interactive yet, but it will be in a few weeks. I think it looks fabulous already, but check it out and tell us what YOU think.

Okay, Peeps. That's all I've got for now. But look for pictures in the next day or two. Stay tuned and thanks for not giving up on the blog. (I haven't!)

xoxo k.
