New England Aquarium

For Christmas this year, Santa gave Rocco a special certificate that was good for all five of us to get into the Aquarium in Boston... The certificate stated that we just needed to redeem it at the ticket window and they would know what to do-- and it totally worked! They knew exactly what to do and they even let Rocco keep his special certificate from Santa. So we said hello to the harbor seals and then headed into the aquarium to start our adventure...

Rocco and the harbor seals

We spent A LOT of time petting the sting rays and sharks in the touch tank! They felt soft and slimy.

This skeleton is from a juvenile North Atlantic Right Whale-- it's 35' long!

Rocco enjoyed checking out the dwellers of the Amazon...

This was a very big octopus! They can squeeze their whole body through spaces as small as the size of a quarter... The tank at the aquarium had to be specially-made to be octopus-proof after they had an octopus attempt to escape!

This is Burger! She is soooo adorable, right?? She is a rococo toad. (and she's BIG!)

This is Myrtle the Green Sea Turtle! She is about 80 years old and has been living at the aquarium since about 1970. She weighs 500 lbs and eats cabbage, lettuce, squid & brussel sprouts! She makes a funny noise when she comes up to the top of the tank for air.
